I have been a business woman virtually all my life. I started business at the age of 9 when I was in my home state, Kano, northern Nigeria. When I moved to the United States of America in 2010, I was encouraged to become a nurse, so I started and completed my pre-nursing at Montgomery College and, like most of my class mates, was encouraged to pursue jobs that would expose me to nursing rudiments. However, I later couldn’t continue with the studies due to health issues. I thus reverted to where I was, and am, most at home with, business.
I am married to a journalist and computer enthusiast, Ibrahim Ka-Almasih Garba of the Hausa Service of the Voice of America (VOA) and we have three children: Suleiman, Hannatu and Laila.
I like traveling, socializing, fashion and touching people’s lives positively.
